Premier Soccer Academy
-Academics-
Centered on the central beliefs of collaboration and problem solving and accredited by the state of Indiana, Premier Soccer Academy’s academic program is both engaging and rigorous. Our focus is to teach our students how to learn and become responsible for their own learning. We then build on that foundation with units of study that rely on our 4 corners and a healthy dose of project based learning, inquiry, and collaborative learning.
Students in grades 4-8th will be studying:
Humanities (reading, history, social sciences)
STEM (mathematics, science, technology)
Spanish
Wellness
Robotics
Students at PSA will also take NWEA 3 times a year as a summative assessment to determine areas of need and measure growth.
PSA is a fully accredited school through the Indiana Department of Education.
We have partnered with Edmentum to provide elements of our core curriculum. Edmentum is NCAA and Cognia accredited, meaning the courses our students take are accredited and recognized by local high schools. Edmentum also allows students flexibility when it comes to when and where they engage in their lessons. For those student athletes who travel for games frequently, Edmentum allows school to travel with the student on the road and interact with instructors remotely.
Both our Humanities and STEM curriculum will rely heavily on project based learning. Project based learning is a model and framework for developing knowledge where the students engage in projects set around real world problems. Instead of hearing a lecture, taking notes, and passing an exam, project based learning is interdisciplinary, rigorous, and centered on the student finding and using knowledge. Here is a great article that explains some of the benefits.
