Colleen Lahr-Spanish Instructor

B.S - Spanish Education, Franklin College

M.S - Education, Butler University

Mrs. Lahr has 41 years teaching Spanish, including 8 years of working after retirement. Before retiring, she taught 24 years in public schools and 9 in private. Her experience includes Levels 1-4 as well as AP Culture and Literature. Colleen had a very successful career in college athletics, participating in Volleyball, Basketball and Track. She also trained on the national level as a member of the United States National Team Handball team. Colleen continued her passion for sports and coached for over 30 years. Colleen loves school energy. She hopes to model the importance of life-time learning. She finds it important to encourage the values of responsibility, self-discipline, courtesy to all, and the awareness and acceptance of others.

Colleen and her husband, Mark, live in the Eagle Creek area. Mark is also a retired teacher and athletic trainer. He too, is not ready for full retirement. He continues his expertise at Forté Sports Medicine and Orthopedics. Mark and Colleen have 3 children. Twin boys, Anthony and Paul and daughter Brooke. All enjoy any outdoor activities. They make sure to hike while visiting the children in California and Colorado.
